The experience
A self-sufficient journey through Patagonia, a remote and wild land. We will cycle through deserts, forests, fjords, and glaciers, moving by bike and sleeping in tents. Not an organized tour, but a true journey of discovery in a remote land.
23 giorni
16 giorni di bici, 2 giorni di transfer, 2 giorni di trekking, 1 giorno di rafting
We will depart from San Carlos de Bariloche, the majestic gateway to Patagonia, to embark on the scenic Camino de los Siete Lagos, a series of water mirrors nestled among woods and mountains. From here, we will leave Argentina to enter Chile, crossing the Andes and following the course of raging rivers that accompany the legendary Carretera Austral.
Chilean Patagonia surprises with its completely different face compared to Argentina: here, water dominates the landscape, transforming the vegetation into a lush and vibrant mosaic. We will cycle immersed in a nearly primordial nature, among national parks, fjords, lakes, and rivers with incredible turquoise and emerald hues, in an environment reminiscent of an untouched forest.
We will follow the Carretera Austral to its end, reaching the remote village of Villa O'Higgins. From here, we will face one of the most fascinating challenges of the journey: the legendary O'Higgins Crossing, a little-known route reserved for experienced travelers, through wild mountains and isolated territories, to return to Argentina.
Our route will culminate in El Chaltén, at the foot of two icons of world mountaineering, Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre. Here we will dedicate two days to spectacular trekking in one of the most iconic settings of Patagonia.
Finally, we will move towards El Calafate to visit the majestic Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the few glaciers in the world still expanding, a colossal ice formation that leaves one breathless with its grandeur and beauty.
